OneTrue are recruiting for a committed Social Worker to work full time within the Leaving Care Team based in London Borough of Southwark. The ideal applicant will have previous experience working in the same or a similar service, be very dedicated, personable and willing to contribute positively to the team and service to ensure the best and most appropriate outcomes are delivered. Applicants must have previous experience working with UK statutory services and hold valid HCPC registration.


The pay rate for this Social Worker role is £27.27 + £0.94 AWR (Umbrella Company) per hour and is an ongoing contract.

Specific Role Information

The Leaving Care Team is looking for a Senior Social Worker 4+ years' experience, on a temporary contract to work with the Pilot Project Partnership. We are working, and trialing new ways to support young people to achieve better outcomes. We are developing group work and wrapping additional services around the team.


The Social Worker will be allocated cases up to 15 cases aged between 16 - 19 years old. The work is varied, demanding, but most of all rewarding.


The candidate must have Leaving Care Experience.


Candidates must have a current up to date DBS, the recruitment agency should have all references, and all safeguarding should also be up to date given this position is for an immediate start.


Please ensure you have checked the pay-scale and the candidate is aware of the current hourly rate, this cannot be negotiated.


Not exhaustive list -


Support young people age 16-18 years old in LAC reviews, visits, PEPs, placement meetings.


Attend meetings to support the young person.


Work with some 18+ young people who are not ready to fully transition to a personal advisor, you will be offering higher support than a PA.


Attend court, work with probation and or the police


Write core reports such as LAC review, court reports, briefing notes, risk assessment, dust assessment.


Liaise with external agencies, parents, foster carers, residential placements.


Prepare young person for independent living


Hours 36 per week, but not core 09:00am - 17:00pm due to young people being in education or employment.


Work with UASC young people, ensuring they have access to legal advice.
