OneTrue are recruiting for a committed Social Work Practice Consultant to work full time within the Locality and Looked After Children & Permanency Services based in London Borough of Brent. The ideal applicant will have previous experience working in the same or a similar service, be very dedicated, personable and willing to contribute positively to the team and service to ensure the best and most appropriate outcomes are delivered. Applicants must have previous experience working with UK statutory services and hold valid HCPC registration.


The pay rate for this Social Work Practice Consultant role is £29.64 + £0.78 AWR (Umbrella Company) per hour and is an ongoing contract.

Requirements of the Social Work Practice Consultant

* Degree or equivalent in social work

* Current HCPC registration

* Experience of dealing with the most complex and challenging cases in a department, including those with CP plans, LAC status or in contested court healings

* Experience of supervising staff in a children's social work setting

* Experience of developing staff through mentoring, coaching and training them in order to improve practice.


Specific Role Information

Job Purpose:


1. To lead, supervise and develop a group of Social Workers, ensuring the provision of a consistently high standard of service for children and families. These services will meet or exceed statutory duties and comply with local policies and procedures.

2. To ensure that key performance targets, as they apply to the specific team, are met.

3. To provide expert advice, guidance and supervision to enable team members to develop and maintain best practice standards.

4. To hold and manage a small caseload of the most complex and challenging cases within the department, including those children who may be on CP plans, Looked After, or subject to contested court proceedings.
