Requirements of the Adult Social Worker Hospital Team Vacancy

 

· Degree or equivalent in social work

· Current HCPC registration

· Significant senior level frontline experience within the relevant specified field.

 

Specific Role Information

 

Hertfordshire County Council are looking for 6 x Social Workers to join their Watford General Hospital team based at the Hospital itself.

 

This is a fast paced, highly pressurised environment - candidates will need to be able to work at a fast pace and be assertive within their nature whilst maintaining a professional attitude.

 

Experience of working with multidisipliary teams would be ideal as candidates will be working closely with the trust to expedite timely discharges by keeping service users at the centre of all activities to assess, care manage, commission and review needs to facilitate a safe and timely discharge. Knowledge of CHC, Mental Capacity and Delayed discharge act would be advantageous.

 

Sound IT skills essential.

 

Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, good standard of written English and the ability to prioritise workload as well as a sound grasp of relevant legislation and knowledge of personalisation and safeguarding agenda's.

 

 

 

Previous hospital experience is essential. At present social workers within this team are receiving 2-3 referrals a day.

 

Must be adaptable in their way of working and be capable of working under pressure, must work well in a team as well as on own initiative.

 

Person Specification

 

QSW with older adults experience Hospital experience Sound IT skills essential.

 

Personal Attributes

 

Ability to work under pressure at a fast pace. Candidates must be physically able to handle the demands of the Hospital not just work related, but also in relation to car parking - within Watford General the staff car park is up a steep incline and quite a distance from the office base.
